Painting Technique
Every artist has their own way of planning and working on a painting. I was thinking of the best way to illustrate how I work.

I decided that the best way to illustrate the process would be to take a step by step look at every stage pictorially.
Considering the work so far.
Correcting something I wasn't quite happy with.
So if you follow the link in the box below I will take you through each step as I prepare a painting for a Manchester Aviation Art Society exhibition for the 60th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain.
I have taken a slightly different tack to what I am anticipating a lot of members might work on. I guess they would probably be doing Spitfires so I have decided on two different subjects.
The already completed Battle Preparations and a painting of Flight Lt. J. B. Nicolson of 249 Squadron in the action over Southampton that eventually led to him being awarded the Victoria Cross, the only one awarded to a Fighter command pilot during the Second World War. You can see how this painting is worked up by following this link here . Happier with it now!
