Hello and welcome to my website.
Dave Jones pictured against an example of his beautiful Lake District landscapes.
My name is Dave Jones but I paint under the name John D. Jones. If you an art lover I hope you will appreciate my work. There are various sections to navigate around and to read as well as examples of my work to look at. I am also an avid modeller and you can see examples of my models on here also.
Being a member of the American Society of Aviation Artists I had three works accepted for their major exhibition in 2001 at the Canadian Aviation Museum in Ottawa. These exhibitions are not generally known for selling large numbers of works but I was pleased that one of my paintings was actually purchased by the museum to become part of their permanent collection. This painting "Over the Lines", a First World war scene, can also be seen in the gallery.
Since my Website was launched in 2000 I have re-joined the Guild of Aviation Artists and had a successful 2002 Annual exhibition selling two of the three paintings I had accepted. These can now be seen in the gallery. Over the past year I have completed a number of commissions, mainly World War 2 related subjects. Perhaps the most challenging of these was a painting depicting the Battle of Britain Memorial flight. A picture of this will be added to the gallery in a week or so.
I have also tried to give some information on artist techniques as far as they apply to my work, I have recently added a section that details each stage of a paintings creation. There is also some information on how I learnt to be an artist and who influenced me.
I am always open to commissions so if you do like my work and would like to discuss anything with a view to possibly having a unique painting for a loved one or as a treat for yourself I would love to hear from you .
If you use the pictorial links on the left you can navigate to all the main sections (or the text links below). The gallery section is now fully open and has thumbnails that link to larger versions of my artwork and each larger copy has information on each picture for you to read.
I hope you enjoy my website.
