Re:Round 2 Race Results - The Valley Raceway - 2008/08/08 22:02 Hi Graham

I was thinking of the weekend of the 23rd. Does this give you enough time to fix Al's car?.

Regards

Alan

Re:Round 2 Race Results - The Valley Raceway - 2008/08/09 00:09 the 23 would be fine alan but, Ive just had an email off john to say he cant get the car to me in timebefore he heads south, so I'll get dave to send the spares down to you ,if you change the motor for one of the new ones that al has sent then youll get some more performance ,the jamming problem is caused with the up down movement of the transfer gear ,this really needs a rear support to stop it wagging but may be if you warm it up and push the gear further onto the shaft so it touches the bearing face it will do enough to stabalise it .
Let me know if you can sort it when john drops it off or if you need me to supply a diagram to clear up what Im trying to describe .

Sorry to jump ahead of your round of the proxy but what are we going to do about transporting the cars from Midford Combe to Earls Hall Park - Sounds very grand with those names...

I guess you no longer travel to Heathrow which makes the Brooklands handover less convenient than last year. Have you any thoughts yet?

It would be nice to meet up again at Brooklands, who knows Cobb's Napier Railton might even be in residence this time. On my last two visits it has been off around the world.
After your round of the proxy we'll firm up the arrangements.

Re:Round 2 Race Results - The Valley Raceway - 2008/08/14 14:04 John,

Great job! The descriptions and pictures certainly convey the feeling of being there and it's what makes this proxy such a fun one.

Graham,

Thanks for the comments and I'm glad you enjoyed driving the car. I'm very envious of you guys that get to experience everyones cars.

Looking forward to round 3 at Midford Combe.

Re:Round 2 Race Results - The Valley Raceway - 2008/08/29 14:58 hi all, this has got to be the most exciting forum on the web! awesome! a huge vote of thanks to john d for bringing it to existance. where else can you get photos and sensible advice and help from an expanding knowledgable group.i get fired up every time i log on.EM,s p99 is slowly being tweaked thanks to Grah1 and the other guys, and i am willing it on up the leader board.i think when fully sorted it,s technical merit will definitly warrant an adetailed article on its construction and development. you as a group have raised the "bar" yet again and brought vintage F.!. in leaps and bounds.shades of dave lord.bring on the glory days.congratulations to all. sounds like a cliff richards song but there i go showing my age again.(sorry) peterjon
