An evening at Dave's track - 2008/06/18 12:09 Thanks to Dave for his hopspitality yesterday when he played host to Graham, Bryan, Paul, Charlie and myself for an evening running on his superb home track.

A few of the cars for the forthcoming proxy series were on hand in various states of completion:

Nearest the camera, Charlie's Monaco BRM (10), my own BRP-BRM (11), Jim's lovely Lola (18), Graham's BRM (4), Dave's BRM (17) and Bryan's BRM which he intends to finish as the red Scuderia Centro Sud car driven by Giancarlo Baghetti.

Here are some close ups of a few of the cars:

Charlie's BRM:

Jim's Lola:

My own BRP just lacking gearbox cover and rear part of the exhausts:

Incidentally, we are hoping to run the first round week commencing 21 July so please try and get your cars ready and sent in to Dave by then

Re:An evening at Dave's track - 2008/06/18 14:55 Hi John,

Many thanks for posting the photos...... excellent stuff as usual. I do like your B.R.P. B.R.M. it really does capture the essence of the car and should really look quite stunning once you have the additional details fitted.

So glad that you all enjoyed yourselves last night. I can assure you it was a pleasure to have you all over for an evenings fun after such a long time.

Once you have been able to confirm the date suitable for you and Charlie to come over for the first round I will call Mac so he can plan accordingly as he does want to come up again to drive.

I promise that I won't clean the track again before the event, I'll just re-clean all the tapes and check that the Battery is fully charged.

All the best for now.

Dave

Re:An evening at Dave's track - 2008/06/18 17:27 It's nice to see some of this years cars are taking shape and don't they look at home on Dave's wonderful track. Thanks for sharing these lovely pictures.
There are going to be lots of BRM's this year with various schemes, the Centro Sud car will look nice alongside my Trintingant French blue version - when I get it built that is....

Re:An evening at Dave's track - 2008/06/19 12:38 I'm moving along - with a little luck, I'll have something over by 7/21 - I'd add a photo but have not figured out how to post a photo on this forum. Can I point to one of my albums on Slot Forum?

Re:An evening at Dave's track - 2008/06/19 16:44 Beautiful pictures. The field is shaping up to be another great one. I'm still working on the Lotus but most of my time is being spent on my new track.

It is about halfway landscaped now, I'll try and post an updated photo, and of course everytime I go down to work on the Lotus, I wind up running laps with my other cars. That's what happens when you go so long without a track. I also just picked up a new slot it controller and find it fascinating with all the different adjustments available.

In any event, I've reworked the Brabham that I was not able to finish last year and will send it if I can't get the lotus finished in time.

Re:An evening at Dave's track - 2008/06/20 11:54 Thanks, Graham - it worked. I was confused because the image didn't show up in the "Preview" window.
