doing it again - 2008/03/17 08:31 hi guys, thanks for the invite again.
If this years races are as good as last years we
are in for a another enjoyable series.
Tyres. would it be possible to adopt Ortmann,s
as a control tyre, this would make the playing
field the same for everyone and stop the likes
of me poncing about with multi sets of tyres
traveling with the cars.
Get building.
cheers
mac

Re:doing it again - 2008/03/17 14:41 Hi Mac

Only one set of tyres per car is allowed this year (although they may be changed if they are problematic in some way).

I'm sure Ortmanns will be the popular choice again although I don't like the idea of stipulating a control tyre. Also, I hear that the Ortmann "formula" has recently changed so there would be no guaranteeing like and like.

Re:doing it again - 2008/03/17 15:30 Hi Mac,

I must admit that I am with John on this one and think that it should be up to the individual to provide whatever tyre they think will be a good all rounder given the variety of track surfaces that the cars will be will be raced on throughout the series.

Having said that, I am sure that the majority of us will choose Ortmanns as being the optimum "compromise".

This was why I wanted the "Tracks for the 2008 Proxy" to have as much pertinent information so that the individual can then make their own best guess as to what will work for them.

I think that with the various surfaces it does throw in that element of uncertainty which makes the series that bit more unpredictable as to the outcome and hence, hopefully, more entertaining right up to the last round.

Regards.

Dave
