Wheels, tyres, gears and other technical bits - 2008/03/16 23:50 This area is for us to comment on specifics whereby we can list/identify what bits and pieces we use in our builds so that hopefully a definitive list can be created.

Re:Wheels, tyres, gears and other technical bits - 2008/03/16 23:56 Whilst we, in the main, tend to use BWA 32002-093 (3/32" bore) wheels on our cars. I can't for the life of me remember which Ortmann tyre suits this particular wheel.

As you know, unless you are totally familiar with what tyre suits what hub the Ortamnn site doesn't exactly make it clear what one should order.

Please would someone identify the tyre I/we would need to order.

Thank you.

A somewhat confused (nothing new there) Dave

Re:Wheels, tyres, gears and other technical bits - 2008/03/17 13:33 I get as confused as you Dave when it comes to Ortmanns. For the Earlybird cars I think I use 28c and 28m tyres and the fronts from these I use on the rear of the 1961-65 cars but for the life of me I can't remember if it's the c or m.
Sorry that's of very little use....

David

Re:Wheels, tyres, gears and other technical bits - 2008/03/17 14:30 Last year I used Ortmann 28m at the rear. 28c will fit BWA 32002 wheels too but these will need truing down more due to their larger diameter.

I had Ninco Classic (20x7) on the front.

Hope that helps.

Re:Wheels, tyres, gears and other technical bits - 2008/03/17 15:34 John,

Many thanks for the information as to which type of Ortmann you have used.

Being a chap who is all for an easy life and who finds it awkward to sand down Ortmanns when a lot of material needs to be removedI think I had better place an order for some of the 28m type.

Regards.

Dave
