I must admit that I am with John on this one and think that it should be up to the individual to provide whatever tyre they think will be a good all rounder given the variety of track surfaces that the cars will be will be raced on throughout the series.
Having said that, I am sure that the majority of us will choose Ortmanns as being the optimum "compromise".
This was why I wanted the "Tracks for the 2008 Proxy" to have as much pertinent information so that the individual can then make their own best guess as to what will work for them.
I think that with the various surfaces it does throw in that element of uncertainty which makes the series that bit more unpredictable as to the outcome and hence, hopefully, more entertaining right up to the last round.
